Description

Lethal tiny waste (2018) (14,5×5,3in) by the artist Christine Galvez, is a minimalist metal sculpture encased in a glass dome, featuring a stylized bee. The insect is rendered in dark metal, with its elongated body and delicate wings suspended in the air, giving it the appearance of mid-flight. The intricate detailing of the wings, legs, and antennae adds a sense of fragility, contrasting with the strength and permanence of the metal material.

The insect is positioned with precision, its body curving slightly upward as it hovers within the dome. The glass dome once again serves as both a protective case and a way to frame the sculpture, drawing attention to the insect’s suspended form while creating a sense of preservation. The black circular base, in keeping with the other sculptures, anchors the piece, giving it a sense of weight and stability while the insect appears light and ethereal within the glass.
