Nicole MONNEREAU divides her life between Paris and La Palmyre, in Charente-Maritime, where she has established her studio.
After more than forty years in the management of a major insurance group, she now devotes herself entirely to her lifelong passion — giving free rein to her artistic expression through painting and collage.
Her art is deeply nourished by her extensive travels across the globe and her visits to major museums and exhibitions — from China to the United States, throughout Europe, Egypt, Mexico, and beyond.
Recent exhibitions in Italy and France have brought her work greater visibility and accessibility. Through them, she invites viewers to follow her along the poetic pathways of her imagination. Her current work reflects her immediate surroundings — the animals of the La Palmyre Zoo, the Ocean, the Forest — transforming familiar landscapes into dreamlike compositions.
Her line, fluid and expressive, becomes her signature.
Her backgrounds often reveal intricate entanglements, networks, and traces of primitive fishing nets, as if signs and symbols were gently caught within their weave.
This authentic sense of primitivism — evocative of Paul Klee and Gaston Chaissac — infuses her creations, born on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
Through this rediscovered candor, Nicole MONNEREAU offers radiant bouquets of color and opens wide the gates of poetry.
