A Career Shift After Forty Years: Embracing a Lifelong Passion
After more than forty years in executive management within a major insurance group, she made a decisive and liberating turn: devoting herself entirely to her lifelong passion for art. Painting and collage have become the terrain where her artistic voice unfolds freely, guided by intuition, memory, and emotion.
Nicole Monnereau divides her life between Paris and La Palmyre, in Charente-Maritime, where she has established her studio facing the vast rhythms of the Atlantic coast. Her work is deeply nourished by an exceptional cultural journey. Extensive travels across the globe — from China to the United States, throughout Europe, Egypt, and Mexico — combined with countless visits to major museums and international exhibitions, have shaped a rich visual language. These experiences resonate quietly within her compositions, giving them both depth and universality.
Recent exhibitions in Italy and France have brought increased visibility to Monnereau’s work, inviting a broader audience to enter the poetic landscapes of her imagination. Today, her artistic focus is rooted in her immediate surroundings.
